A group of officials from the defunct Imperial Japanese Navy drew up the map. Fushida Mitsuo, the group leader, was the captain of the air service that carried out the attack.

The map is 80 cm long and 61 cm wide.

It contains information about the attack on US Navy ships anchored in the port and on other targets. It also contains information about the damage done.

The map indicates the types of bombs that were used and the number of torpedoes that hit their targets. It also contains details about the warship fires.

Damage is classified into four categories.

The Library of Congress says the map was presented to the Japanese Emperor Showa a few weeks after the attack.
