Malaysians took to social media after feeling tremors from the Indonesia earthquake

Petaling Jaya: Malaysians have taken to social media to share their experiences in the aftermath of the earthquake in Indonesia, with some saying they felt tremors and tremors in Peninsular Malaysia.

Twitter user @matsz said: “Actually it was a 7.3 magnitude earthquake.. Lying on the bed (felt) my body swaying and my phone charger falling off the table, I also heard the sounds of trees outside shaking.”

Another tweet from @amnxzhr asked: “Wrong, did anyone (sic) feel some kind of earthquake around 4am?”

A magnitude 7.1 ‘shaken the bed this morning’ (the bed was shaking in the morning), said ArilEfzueni. Indonesia has sent out a tsunami warning. Hope they are all safe.

@nosnaj said with a touch of humor: “I felt a slight tremor at 4am, looked up earthquake on twitter, many results from fellow Malaysians. Well, no ghost messing with my seat.”

“I’m at 4 in the morning: is this an earthquake or a spirit shaking my bed?” was the question asked by @rzmaulana.

The earthquake, which measured 6.9 on the Richter scale, occurred at 4 am on Tuesday (April 25) in southern Sumatra, according to MetMalaysia.

The epicenter was 85 km northwest of Siberut, Indonesia, at a depth of 48 km.

Indonesia’s Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency said a tsunami warning was issued after the quake.
