The coronavirus has been designated as a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO).
WHO Director Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said the number of cases outside China has increased 13-fold in two weeks. He said there are "alarming levels of non-concern."
The pandemic is a disease that is spreading to many countries around the world at the same time.
A few hours later, Italy said all stores would be closing grocery stores and pharmacies.
