More aftershocks hit New Jersey, bringing the total to 73 after the quake

HUNTERDON COUNTY, N.J. (PIX11) — More aftershocks have been reported in New Jersey after a large earthquake struck the tri-state area more than a week ago, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The agency reported that seven more aftershocks had struck the area since late Sunday night. Most were located near the epicenter in Hunterdon County.

The total number of aftershocks reached 73, according to the US Geological Survey. The 4.8 magnitude earthquake that occurred on April 5 was the largest to hit New Jersey in more than 100 years.
