The death toll climbs to 3471 in the Myanmar earthquake

Government media reported on Sunday that the outcome of a huge earthquake in Myanmar has risen to 3471, as search and rescue teams continue to find more bodies.

The 7.7 earthquake, which struck March 28, was injured by 4,671 victims and 214 missing from Saturday.

About 653 people were rescued under the rubble of buildings by local and international rescue teams, while 682 bodies of debris were recovered.

Tom Fletcher, the United Nations Middle Eastern Forto, who met the victims in the Central Mandalay city, near the earthquake center, described the situation as “amazing”, and urged the international community to “stand behind the people of Myanmar.”

Relief groups fear that a group of unreasonable rain and severe heat can cause the disease outbreaks, including cholera, for survivors who are in the open.

Meanwhile, the Yangon-Mandalai railway and Mandala International Airport were reopened after its closure due to the damage caused by the earthquake.

The tremors were damaged 60 Dam and 11 bridges of the railway along the Yangon-Mandalai line, regardless of causing bending in some areas.

In the neighboring Thailand, the number of the dead of the earthquake rose to 24, with a missing 77.
