Coronavirus: US overcomes China with most cases – BBC News

The US has confirmed more coronavirus cases than any other country, with more than 85,500 positive tests.

According to the latest figures compiled by Johns Hopkins University, the US has outperformed China (81,782 cases) and Italy (80,589).

But with the nearly 1,300 deaths associated with Covid-19, the number of deaths in the US is behind China (3,291) and Italy (8,215).

A rough landmark when President Donald Trump announced that the nation would return to work “pretty quickly.”
