Aberfan remembered: Disaster in the Welsh valleys – BBC News
At nine-thirty this morning (until the age of 50) silence fell on Aberfan as the town remembered the catastrophe that claimed the lives of 116 children and 28 adults. They were killed when a mountain of coal collapsed and engulfed the first school and house. Survivors and relatives of the dead attended the ceremony this morning, and more events will be held throughout the day. Please subscribe HERE
