Surrey school leaders celebrated at Principal and Deputy Principal Appreciation Day

Today (Wednesday, May 1) is Principal and Deputy Principal Appreciation Day, a day to celebrate our school leaders for the work they do throughout the year for students, staff and parents across the district.
Today and every day, we hope our students and staff will take the time to recognize the importance of our administrators who lead our schools year after year and ensure they remain safe and healthy learning environments for students and staff. ours.
“Principals and vice-principals are the steadfast leaders of all our schools,” said Surrey Board of Education Chair Laurie Larsen. “We rely on their management expertise, life experience and compassion to guide decisions that impact and help our students and families throughout the school year.”

With 103 elementary schools, 21 middle schools, and five learning centers, the district has hundreds of principals and vice principals who oversee the day-to-day operations of our schools. From students entering their first day of Kindergarten to Grade 12, looking ahead to life after high school, our school leaders are a driving force in the lives of our more than 83,000 students across Surrey , White Rock and Barnston Island.
We encourage all of our students, staff and families to show their gratitude to their principals and vice principals every day – whether it's with a wave or a smile in the hallway, making a card or just saying thank you! We know they will appreciate it!
