Oregon reports eight more COVID-19-related deaths and 3,286 new cases over the weekend

Portland, Oregon (KTVZ)-There were eight new COVID-19-related deaths in Oregon over the weekend, increasing the state’s death to 3,823, the Oregon Health Department reported Monday.

OHA also reported 3,286 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 as of 12:01 am on Monday, bringing the state total to 334,971.

Eight new deaths and 3,286 new cases reported on Monday include data recorded by the county during the three days from Friday, October 1st to Sunday, October 3rd.

COVID-19 hospitalization

The number of patients admitted to COVID-19 throughout Oregon is 769, two more than Sunday. There are 207 COVID-19 patients in the intensive care unit (ICU) bed, six more than on Sunday.

There are 61 adult ICU beds out of a total of 687 (9% availability) and 351 adult non-ICU beds out of 4,216 (8% availability).

As of early Monday, St. Charles Bend reported 76 COVID-19 patients, 15 of whom were in the ICU and 8 were on ventilator. The hospital reported that 14 of the 15 ICU patients were not fully vaccinated and 64 of the 76 patients were not fully vaccinated.

The total number of patients in bed can fluctuate during reporting times. This number does not reflect the number of hospital stays or length of stay per day. This data does not include personnel limits and may further limit bed capacity.

Vaccination in Oregon

OHA reported on Monday that 6,962 COVID-19 vaccinations were added to the state’s immune registries on Sunday. Of this total, 1,895 were administered on Sunday: 345 was the first dose, 296 was the second dose, and 1,247 was the third and booster doses. The remaining 5,067, which was administered the day before, was registered in the vaccine registry on Sunday.

Currently, the 7-day moving average is 10,322 times per day.

Oregon is currently receiving 3,029,618 doses of Pfizer Community, 1,910,835 doses of Modana, and 216,829 doses of Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine.
