Huntington — The COVID-19 outbreak recurred in local long-term care and living support facilities, resulting in death.

According to the COVID-19 dashboard in West Virginia, there were two outbreaks in Cabell County as of Thursday. At Madison Park Healthcare, one died and five staff and one resident were virus-positive. Two residents and seven staff members were virus-positive at the St. Mary’s Medical Center long-term care facility.

One of the largest outbreaks occurred in Logan’s Trinity Healthcare, killing 16 people and positive for 93 residents and 62 staff. At the Logan Center, there is only one resident.

In total, there are 33 outbreaks in nursing homes in West Virginia. Eight are in Kanawa County.

According to Kentucky Public Health, void nursing and rehabilitation occurred in Kentucky, killing two people between residents and 12 staff, and 32 positive.

In Ohio, an outbreak occurred at Harbor Healthcare in Lawrence County, where three new residents were reported positive and six new staff were positive last week.
