The Scottish Government proposes to “maximize” Covid-19 vaccine information for clinically vulnerable people
After seeking clarification from the Scottish MS Society, the Scottish Government will consider ways to “maximize” the information provided to clinically vulnerable people regarding the Covid-19 vaccine.

Health Secretary Jean Freeman said at a daily briefing on the coronavirus on Friday to discuss whether more information could be provided to the MS Society and other MS organizations.
After the MS Society announced the study, 72% of the members surveyed across the UK said they would like more advice on vaccination in their own condition. Over 69% of the 3,000 respondents said they would be vaccinated.
The MS Society said one-third of charity helpline calls are currently related to Covid-19.
“The NHS is under incredible pressure, facing incredibly difficult choices and hearing from people desperately looking for more information from charities like us.” , Said Morna Simpkins, Director of MS Society Scotland.
When asked about the study, Ms. Freeman said:
“We take it very seriously. Discuss with the MS organization what information they can help the people they represent and work with, and maximize the information they provide to those who have MS. I will do my best to make it.
“When you get vaccinated, remember that the vaccinated person has many very important questions and conversations with you before giving you a vaccine.
“This is a very important part of ensuring that the entire process is safe.”
Chief Nursing Officer Fiona McQueen said: “Few people are unsuitable for vaccination. If you want to talk to the vaccinated clinician or your doctor, the risk balance between vaccination and non-vaccination.
“It’s all done during surgery. I’m sure it can be done for people with MS.”
