Jackson County Schedules New Eligible COVID Vaccinations As Supply Allows
Jackson, Michigan — Residents of Jackson County over the age of 50 with medical vulnerabilities will be able to begin booking the COVID-19 vaccine on Monday, March 8.
Immunization of the elderly and essential workers remains the focus of the Jackson County Health Department, but officials said the appointment of new qualified groups of people is planned as long as supply allows.
According to health officials, many people over the age of 65 have requested a vaccine reservation and have not yet been contacted about the vaccine reservation.
On March 22, all residents over the age of 50 will be able to apply for a reservation.

Officials said the Ministry of Health received the first shipment of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine and has already begun administration to residents.
As of March 3, state data show that as of March 3, 40,978 doses were given to county residents by the Jackson County Health Department, Henry Ford Alliance Health, pharmacies, and other providers.
People need to pre-register their appointments through the Health Department’s Online Vaccine Interest Survey. mijackson.org/2442/COVID-Vaccine.. People who do not have internet access or need assistance with the investigation will be asked to seek help from friends and family.
The health department will contact everyone who has pre-registered to set up an appointment. Officials are working with volunteers and local groups to call people who have indicated they do not have email, officials said.

Meijer and Rite Aid are also currently offering vaccinations.
