Ebola outbreak in Africa: deaths increase to 13

As of Saturday, the number of cases and deaths of Ebola virus disease (EVD) has increased to 29 and 13 according to the World Health Organization.
On February 6, 2021, the Ministry of Health of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MoH) confirmed the outbreak of EVD in Butembo.
In North Kivu, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DR Congo), the cumulative number of confirmed cases is currently 11, in four health zones: Vienna (5; 3), Butembo (3; 0), and Katwa (2). 4 people have died. 1) and Musienene (1; 0).
So far, nearly 1000 people have been vaccinated.
On February 14, 2021, the Ministry of Health of Guinea (MoH) confirmed the outbreak of EVD in Nzerekore province.
In Nzerekore, Guinea, a total of 18 EVD cases were reported (14 confirmed, 4 likely) and 9 died.
1600 people were vaccinated.

Outside of Guinea and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Sierra Leone investigated 13 EVD-related alerts during the last two weeks of February.
All people under investigation were tested negative for EVD by the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test. As of March 3, no confirmed cases from Sierra Leone have been reported.
