Boulder County, Colorado — Public health authorities in Colorado have established coronavirus dials that show different levels of “openness” in each county. Governor Jared Polis said the framework was modeled after the state’s fire risk surged.
Each dial has five levels based on three indicators: the number of new cases, the positive rate of the COVID-19 test, and the impact on the hospital. Public health officials said more people could participate in various activities as the dial moved to the left to protect its neighbors.
To move to a less restrictive level (such as Level 2 to Level 1), the county must meet all three indicators and be maintained for two weeks.
