Missouri City, Texas – The Texas Department of Health has instructed the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to ship the COVID-19 vaccine to more than 1,100 providers in 185 counties, Texas next week.
The CDC will provide Moderna-produced 460,500 doses of vaccine and 159,900 doses of Pfizer vaccine to continue vaccination of front-line healthcare professionals and residents of long-term care facilities.
Glenn Lakes Pharmacy in Missouri City is a 1,100 healthcare provider vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccine later this week.
Mona Finley is the owner and says they are already doing a lot of preparation. The property’s privacy and storage rooms are ready.
“We are really excited to receive it. We have made a lot of preparations. We are ready to receive it,” Finley said.
Finley says her pharmacy will be vaccinated 200 times with the Moderna vaccine for healthcare providers.
“In fact, we have already registered a list of quite a few patients … we have booked their doses,” she said.
Finley says you don’t have to worry about the storage conditions for the Moderna vaccine. Pfizer should be stored at extremely low temperatures.
“With Moderna, you don’t have to reconfigure. It’s an additional step for Pfizer because you’re ready to receive it, but if you receive Pfizer, you’re ready to earn more miles,” she says. I did.
