Actor Trupti Khamkar, who played a police officer in Crew, opened up about her experience working in Tabu, Kareena Kapoor and Kriti Sanon comedy and said it was the first time she had “so much time to the screen”. Crew also starred Diljit Dosanjh in a special appearance.
In an interview with Free Press Journal, Trupti Khamkar opened up about how team director Rajesh A Krishnan told her that her role was extremely important in the film. “Even bigger than Diljit Dosanjh. I thought he was cheating on me and wanted to make me happy. But when I saw the film, I was surprised and that's when I understood that he wasn't lying!
The actor said the experience of Crew, her first film, was “awesome” and that she was thrilled to have had “so much screen time.” Trupti added, “I have achieved something worth my acting caliber after 25 years of working in the industry. It was a lot of fun because I had the opportunity to work with all the greats.
“We finished the film in June 2023 and then some corrective measures were taken and during the reshoot I was the only actor who got most of the scenes and that's why my character seems so important,” a- she added.
Crew has become one of the biggest hits of the year so far with a lifetime collection of around Rs 80 cr India net – a surprise as some of the biggest hits have tanked at the box office. While the Hrithik Roshan-Deepika Padukone starrer Fighter was an underperformer, the two big Eid releases, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Maidaan, are also emerging as average grossers.
