Masters: Jason Day confirms Augusta National's fashion demand

Jason Day was one of the highlights of the 88th Masters Tournament this week. Unfortunately, this isn't necessarily due to her play at Augusta National, but her wardrobe choices.

During Thursday's opening round, Day wore some of the baggiest pants you'll ever see on a golf course. Fans recalled MC Hammer.

His first round was cut short due to bad weather, forcing start times to be pushed back. So he went out to finish his first round early Friday morning wearing a vest straight out of the 1980s.

However, fans noticed that when he returned shortly after to throw his second round, that vest was missing.

After her third round, Day addressed the wardrobe change and confirmed her suspicions.

They asked me to take it off the vest yesterday, Day said.

Respectfully, you're doing this because it's all about the tournament here, and I understand that. I respect the tournament.

The Australian had another difficult day on the Augusta course.

He scored a 4-over 76, dropping him to 8-over for the tournament and tied for 45th.

Day, however, isn't the only player putting up big numbers this week. Windy conditions with gusts ranging from 15 to 45 miles per hour all week took their toll.

As a result, much of Day's post-round talk focused on her fashion choices.

Of course, since signing with the burgeoning Malbon Golf brand, golf fashion has taken on a life of its own.

Day was pressed on whether Augusta National gave a reason for requesting the wardrobe change.

I don't know. I have not asked. They said, can you take it off? I said, yeah, no worries… He was from Augusta National.
