NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday extended birthday wishes to veteran BJP leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Lal Krishna Advani and lauded his contributions to the country and the party.
Speaking to X, Prime Minister Modi said Advani's 98th birth anniversary is even more special as he was awarded Bharat Ratna for his exceptional service.
“Best wishes to Shri LK Advani Ji on his birthday. This year is even more special as he has been awarded the Bharat Ratna for his exceptional service to our nation. Among India's most admired statesmen, he is dedicated to promoting the development of India,” the Prime Minister said. » said Modi.

Advanni started his political career as a volunteer of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
Earlier this year, the BJP stalwart was awarded Bharat Ratna, the country's highest civilian honour.
In 2015, Advani was awarded the Padma Vibhushan, India's second highest civilian honor.
