Prime Minister Narendra Modi today launched an all-out attack on the Congress, saying those who have been “repeatedly rejected by the people are disrespecting Parliament and democracy.”
Speaking to the media before the start of Parliament's winter session, he said he was “hoping for healthy discussions”.
“Some people who have been rejected by the people are constantly trying to control Parliament through the hooliganism of a handful of people. He also said that the important parts of the Constitution are Parliament and MPs and there should be “healthy discussions” in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
“More and more people should contribute to the discussions,” he said.
He also said that the winter session of Parliament was “special” for many reasons, including the start of the 75th year of the adoption of the Constitution.
There is speculation that the government may introduce the One Nation One Election Bill during the winter session, which is expected to continue until December 20. Prime Minister Modi recently highlighted that the government is working on the 'One Nation One Election' plan. .
During this session, the Waqf Amendment Bill and the Disaster Management (Amendment) Bill are among the bills likely to be taken up for discussion.
