The PM Modi pays tribute to the founder of RSS Hedgewar, calls the organization “Banyan Tree of Indias Immortal Culture”

Nagpur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Hedgewar Smruti Mandir on Sunday in Nagpur and paid tribute to monuments dedicated to Rashtriya Swayamsevak Shanth (RSS) Sarsghchalak (chef) Ms. Golwalkar.

The head of the RSS, Mohan Bhagwat, the former secretary general of Sangh, Suresh Bhaiyyaji Joshi, the chief minister of Maharashtra, became Fadnavis and the Minister of the Union Nitin Gadkari, were present during the visit of Modis to the Smruti Mandimbagh, the administrative se by the RSS. He also met RSS agents in the SMRUTI Bhavan located at the Memorial and took group photos with them.

Modi visited the memorial for the first time after having become the PM. Earlier, the pillar of the BJP Atal Bihari Vajpayee had visited Dr. Hedgewar Smruti Mandir when he was the Prime Minister on August 27, 2000. Modi's visit coincides with the Pratipada program of Sangh, marking Gudi Padwa, at the start of the New Year.

PM Modi has signed and wrote a note in Hindi in a book of messages on the site. He said: “I bowed with a deep reverence towards the venerated Dr. Hedgewar Ji and the venerable Guru Ji, remembering their inheritance. Visiting this temple of memories fills me.

“This place of these two strong pillars of Sangh is a source of energy for the lakhs of volunteers dedicated to the service of the country. That the glory of Mother India continues to shine forever through our efforts!”

Later in the day, Prime Minister Modi described the RSS as the “Vatvruksh”, or Banyan, of Indiates immortal culture and modernization whose ideals and principles were to protect national conscience.

“India is rising in advance by throwing the mentality of slaves and the symbols of slavery,” said Modi after throwing the Madhav Nettralaya Premium Center foundation stone, a new Madhav Netralaya Extension Building Eye Institute & Research Center in Nagpur.

“We have thrown the penal code that was made with a mentality of slaves and implemented the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Our mantra of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (the world is a family) reached every corner of the world,” he said.

“RSS volunteers work altruisticly in various spheres in different parts of the country,” said the Prime Minister. “Sangh is the Banyan tree of immortal culture and modernization,” said Modi. “This great Vatvruksh is not ordinary,” he said, adding that the RSS is synonymous with service.

Madhav Netralaya was founded in 2014 in memory of the deceased chief of the RSS, Madhavrao Sadashivrao Golwalkar. Modi described it as an institution at the service of the company for several decades on the ideals of Golwalkar. The head of the RSS, Mohan Bhagwat, was present at the event.

Modi said that the “tapasya” of RSS with his “Sanghathan” and “Samarpan” in the past 100 years shows fruit while the country is approaching its objective of “Viksit Bharat” in 2047.

“The 1925-1947 was a period of crisis while the country was fighting for independence and now, after 100 years, the RSS is entering another stage,” he said.

“(The duration of) 2025 to 2047 is important because the major objectives are ahead of us. We must throw the foundation stone for the next 1000 years of a strong and developed India,” said Modi.

On this occasion, Bhagwat said that Madhav Netralaya has worked hard for several years for the well-being of people. It is inspired by the ideology of the altruistic service, he said.

“It doesn’t seem well that people are deprived of health centers and, therefore, RSS volunteers have worked well to give the needy for Madhav Nettralaya,” he said. RSS volunteers are looking for nothing for themselves for others in society, said Bhagwat. Service is the mission of life for the RSS, he added.

Sangh is greeted

The member of Sangh, Seshadri Chari, nicknamed the visit of the Prime Minister “very important and historic”. The member of the RSS said that there was “no difference in opinion” between the RSS and the Bharatiya Janata (BJP) party.

“People talk a lot about the relationship between RSS and BJP, before they also talked about it … There is no difference in opinion between the BJP and the RSS. People who know nothing about the Sangh and the BJP, these people say that there is a difference in opinion between the BJP and the RSS.
