AFP investigates the alleged murder of Queensland's wife rehana by Bangladesh

Australian federal police investigate the death of Queensland's wife, Rehana Parvin, Bangladesh, as alleged murder.

The mother of five went to her country of origin, Bangladesh with her teenage daughter on June 6, 2024 and was seen for the last time on July 3.

His body was discovered in September in a small village north-west of the Bangladaise capital of Dacca.

This month, her mother filed a case with local police accusing four people, including her distant husband Awlad Hossain, of having kidnapped her.

Bangladaise police allegedly allegedly returned to Australia on July 13, having arrived in Bangladesh on June 29.

Ms. Parvin was a resident of Queensland and co -owner three properties with Mr. Hossain in the Lockyer valley.

The ABC does not suggest that Mr. Hossain had an involvement in the death of his wife and that he was not accused of his murder.

An AFP spokesperson confirmed that police went to Bangladesh last November “with the support of the Bangladesh police”, to investigate “as part of the investigation into the alleged murder of an Australian citizen in Bangladesh”.

The spokesman said AFP was investigating the incident as part of a section of the Commonwealth Criminal Code which concerns “the murder of an Australian citizen or a resident outside Australia”.

The family calls for justice

Ms. Parvin's sister Tania Parvin said that she had heard of her sister last July 3 when she was in the hospital after a miscarriage.

Ms. Parvin was four months pregnant.

“I just want justice. I trust the Australian government,” said Tania Parvin.

His family remembered Ms. Parvin as a “best student” who “had a big heart and always helped others”.

An AFP spokesperson said that the agency “would make additional comments at a suitable time”.
