China is investigating the financiers of the former economic Tsar Liu He: Financial Times
Beijing The Chinese government is investigating the financial son of Mr. Liu He, a former vice-president who led commercial discussions with the first Trump administration, the Financial Times (FT) reported on April 6, citing seven unidentified people.
Mr. Liu Tianran, who founded the investment company Skycus Capital in 2016 and was its inaugural president, was under investigation and may have lost his freedom, the FT told one of his former Skycus colleagues.
The FT said that he had previously confirmed that the financier is Mr. Liu Hes Son.
The investigation, which would be too suspected of corruption, was launched by Mr. Liu Tianrans link with the initial public offer provided by Ant Group which was interrupted, the FT cited one of the people.
The authorities have found cases of corruption not linked during the probe, added the FT. Chinese President Xi Jinping has received a report on complaints, according to the newspaper.
Two calls for the Office of the spokesperson for the Central Commission for the Inspectorate of the Discipline of the Chinese Communist Party remained unanswered outside of office hours and a fax in the office did not go through. Skycus was not immediately available to comment.
Mr. Liu Tianran resigned from his post as president of Skycus in April 2017, and his father went to the Chinese communist parties of 25 members Politburo later that year, the FT cited commercial files as shown. After that, he continued to work on business agreements, said the FT.
Skycus accepted funds from technological companies such as Tencent and JD.com and also invested in their decrease activities, said the newspaper. Bloomberg
