More all-time marks at Penn Relays
PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Terps close out Day 2 of the Penn Relay, highlighted by the performances of the men's DMR team, men's 4x200m team and women's 4x100m team.
Erik Albright, Ford himself, Max Worley, and Matt De Haas competed in the Distance Medley and ran a 9:43.43, which is now second all-time in the record books. They also finished second overall in the competition by a narrow margin.
Kevin Collins, Aaron Abedin, Justin Ofotan And Tanner Leach also competed in the 4×200 and ran 1:26.58, which is now seventh all-time in the record books.
Armanie Coleman, Victoria Teasley, Jewel Ofotan, Kyra Lyles ran the women's 4×100 and ran 46.41 seconds, which also qualified them for tomorrow's final. Their time also ranked third overall.
Other highlights
- Rhys Allen was back in the circle for the shot put. Allen threw an outdoor personal best of 17.10 meters on his final attempt and finished first overall in the men's collegiate shot put.
- Kamari TrotzOfotan, Collins, Leach took part in the men's 4×100 and clocked a time of 41.02.
- Mechi Abbott threw the men's javelin into the water, launching a distance of 57.77 meters on his third attempt.
- Coleman and Lyles also competed in the 4×200 Third Akinduro and Samantha Payne. The team ran a time of 1:38.48 and finished ninth.
- Kayla Thorpe was back in the shot put circle and launched a 14.24 meter.
Thursday Competition
- Anna Coffin improved her personal best and third all-time best, running a 4:20.64 in the women's 1500 meters.
- Pink coats first competed in the women's 10,000 meters as a freshman and finished with a time of 36:44.43, which also ranks her ninth all-time in school history.
- Andrew Harmon competed in the men's hammer throw and launched a 56.39.
- Katie Altieri ran the women's 5000 meters and finished in a time of 17:14.51.
The Terps are back in action tomorrow at the Penn Relays.
