Dangerous, Planet Zoo Dev signs an agreement to create Formula 1 management games

Frontier Developments, the British studio behind Elite: Dangerous and Planet Zoo, has signed a multi-year agreement to produce a series of Formula 1 management games.

A ad Frontiers' acquisition of the Formula 1 license reveals that the first game aims to be launched for the F1 2022 season, and – provided it is successful – Frontier can then develop games for ; other F1 seasons up to and including the 2025 season.

The agreement allows Frontier to create games for PC and console platforms, all of which will be developed on the Cobra engine, the tools used to create Elite: Dangerous and the Planet Coaster and Zoo games.

Aside from the F1 management games, there are currently no details on the type of game Frontier will make. Frontier also declined to comment with further information. The genre makes it clear that this will not be a driving simulation – Codemasters has the license – but that it is a planet style management game or something completely different remains to have.
