Wisma Putra hails MH17 trial and highlights credible process (updated)
PETALING JAYA: Malaysia welcomes the start of the trial of four suspects involved in the slaughter of MH 17 in The Hague, the Netherlands, Monday, March 9.
"This is an important step towards discovering the truth and justice for the victims of the tragedy of flight MH17 on July 17, 2014.
"At the start of the trial, we remember this inhuman tragedy, which claimed the lives of 298 precious people, including those of the Malaysian 43 passengers and crew members on flight MH17.
"Our thoughts and prayers have always been with the victims and their families and loved ones in mourning," the foreign ministry said in a statement on Saturday March 7.
He added that the country has stressed that for justice to prevail, it must be based on the rule of law.
