Husband survives COVID-19 but loses 20-year-old wife

NS. Cloud, Minnesota (WCCO)-COVID-19 changed the lives of men in Minnesota after both a man in Minnesota and his 20-year-old wife were infected with the virus. He survived, but she did not. Currently, he encourages others to be vaccinated.

Jeremy Boss spent more than two weeks in the hospital fighting COVID-19. Prior to that, I thought I didn’t need to be vaccinated because I didn’t have an underlying health condition.

Jeremy’s wife, Monica Boss, was also admitted to the hospital with COVID-19. The last time he met her, she was on a ventilator. Like her husband, she was not vaccinated.

Jeremy Boss was finally discharged, but Monica Boss did not return home. Four mothers died on Friday. She was 40 years old.

He spent his Thanksgiving weekend planning his wife’s funeral.

Dr. Jesse Roske, who treated Jeremy Boss, says three-quarters of COVID patients coming to St. Cloud Hospital are unvaccinated.

“I see this devastation to my neighbor and I know it’s all preventable suffering,” she said.

Jeremy Boss is still on an oxygen cylinder and has a long way to go to recovery. He hopes that the story of his family will save the lives of others.

“If I can make a difference to one father who vaccinates his wife, if I can make a difference to one mother who vaccinates, it will make an eternal difference in their lives. I brought it, “he said.
