Four teams advance to 2024 ACC Men's Tennis Championship

CARY, North Carolina (theACC.com)-Clemson, Florida State, Georgia Tech and North Carolina all advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2024 Atlantic Coast Conference men's tennis championship after each posting victories Thursday at Cary Tennis Park.

No. 5 seed North Carolina defeated No. 12 seed Miami 4-0 in the first game of the day, while No. 9 seed Clemson dominated Notre Dame , seeded No. 8, with a 4-1 victory. UNC's victory marked the Tar Heels' eighth shutout victory of the season, including their fifth against ACC opposition. Clemson will make the trip to the quarterfinals for the second time in three years in similar fashion, previously beating No. 5 Duke as a 12 seed in 2022 in Rome, Georgia.

No. 7 seed Georgia Tech blanked No. 10 seed Louisville 4-0, while No. 6 seed Florida State outlasted No. 11 seed Virginia Tech. 4-1. The Seminoles recorded their fourth straight victory against the Hokies.

The top four seeds from No. 1 Virginia, No. 2 Wake Forest, No. 3 NC State and No. 4 Duke all earned double byes into Friday's quarterfinals.

The quarterfinal round begins Friday at 10 a.m. with top-seeded Virginia taking on No. 9 Clemson and No. 4 Duke taking on No. 5 North Carolina. The 12:30 p.m. quarterfinals feature No. 2 Wake Forest taking on No. 7 Georgia Tech and No. 3 NC State taking on No. 6 Florida State.

These semifinals will be played Saturday at 10 a.m., with the championship match scheduled for Sunday at 10 a.m.
