According to AFP, the Chinese chief said that Beijing and Dhaka should “support themselves firmly” on fundamental interests and support Bangladesh on issues such as the safeguard of national sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity.

During their meeting, the two leaders discussed several ways of cooperation, including economic and technical assistance, as well as potential agreements on cultural, sports and media exchanges.

Discussions should also address the immense population of Rohingyas of Bangladesh refugees, most of which fled a violent military repression in neighboring Myanmar in 2017.
