Woman excited as daughter Mariam fights Aruna
victory, The wife of Nigerian table tennis icon Aruna Quadri was proud and extremely excited when her daughter took on her husband during a recent training session.
The dutiful mother uploaded a video of the session to her Instagram page, which shows the youngster taking on her famous father and sharing her excitement in a statement.

Quadri is currently ranked 19th in the world and has represented the country at the Commonwealth and Olympic Games. Ganiyat is also involved in the game and was also a starting player for the national team; and Mariam, a typical chip from the old block, took part in the WTT Youth Contender 2024. Quadri, 35, who recently teamed up with TTC RhnSprudel Maberzell Fulda, a top club in Germany's Bundesliga Table Tennis, has won a litany of laurels and awards around the world.
He competed for Nigeria in the 2012 Summer Olympics, the 2016 Summer Olympics and the 2020 Summer Olympics, reaching the quarter-finals in the former.
Quadri is the first African player to be ranked in the top 10 in the world, reached the quarter-finals of the 2014 Men's Singles World Cup, reached the semi-finals of the 2017 ITTF World Challenge Bulgaria Open and was named International Table Tennis Federation Star Player of the year 2014, and was part of the Nigerian team that won bronze at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
