At that time, the pay gap between male and female actors was staggering. While male stars received big salaries for their roles, actresses struggled to earn a fraction of that amount. Raveena recalls, “What they would do in one film, I would do in, say, 15 films.”

The pay disparity has forced female actresses to work much harder and take on more projects to achieve financial parity with their male counterparts. Raveena mentioned that even popular male co-stars like Salman Khan and Aamir Khan were selective about their work due to the financial dynamics of the industry at that time.
