28 more COVID-19 cases reported in Simcoe Muskoka-Barry
Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has 28 new reports COVID-19 (New Coronavirus Infection) The number of cases on Thursday is 12,586, including 255 deaths.
Rural public health also reported 20 new cases COVID-19 variant On Thursday, there will be a total of 5,207, including 79 active cases.
Of the new cases, 11 are in Barry, 6 are in Orillia, 3 are in Bradford, and 3 are in Innisfil.
The rest are in Clearview, Huntsville, Lake of Bays, New Techamses and Severn.
Eight of the new cases are the result of close contact with another positive COVID-19 case, five are community-acquired, three are outbreak-related, and one is travel-related. The rest are all still under investigation.
Meanwhile, 70.6% of the population in the region receive a single COVID-19 vaccine and 62.9% receive both required vaccinations.
Of the total of 12,586 COVID-19 cases in the region, 97% (12,193) have recovered and 5 are currently hospitalized.
On Thursday, Ontario reported 531 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total to 557,451, including 9,448 deaths.
