Ithaca Men's Rowing Races vs. Rochester and RIT
ITHACA, NY The Ithaca College men's rowing team returned to action on Saturday, April 6, as they competed against both RIT and the University of Rochester on the Cayuga Inlet. The Bombers had an excellent day and achieved some decent times despite the challenging weather and wind in the area. They ran 2,000-meter sprints against the Tigers and 'Jackets', with the varsity 4 boats participating in a 750-meter race due to deteriorating conditions later in the day.
The Ithaca 1V series which consisted of Miles Kenaston, Rhys Pellaton, Riley Maynard, Bryce Williston, James Ross, Griffin hunting, Wesley Hoglin, Caleb Grassi And Max Detzer Both Rochester and RIT followed from start to finish, winning the race with a time of 6:47.6, compared to UR's 7:25.2 and RIT's 7:03.0.
It proved to be a competitive race for Ithaca's 2V as they competed against RIT's 2V and 3V and defeated them both. Ithaca's lineup on Saturday was Caroline Grass, Maxwell Vallino, Brodie Hart, Tynan Fields, Nolyn Boswell, Nico Groenberg, Jonah Alefantis, Ethan Revis And Marshal Adams while setting a time of 6:53.7. RIT's second and third Varsity-8 boats finished second and third behind Ithaca, with times of 6:55.7 and 7:24.2, respectively.
The Bombers travel next weekend to Cherry Hill, New Jersey, where the first and second varsity boats will compete in the Knecht Cup Regatta on April 13 and 14.
