NAB offers NSW East-Coast disaster relief grants

NAB launches relief measures for customers affected by NSW East Coast floods.
Disaster relief grants of $1,000 are being made available to eligible NAB customers in affected areas.
Loan deferments, reduced repayment arrangements and hardship options are available.

NAB is offering $1,000 grants and additional financial assistance to eligible customers affected by the floods to help them through the immediate aftermath.

The grants will help NAB customers who have suffered damage to their home, farm or business to cover emergency costs.

NAB Retail Executive, NSW and ACT, Tony Story said a range of support measures from grants to loan payment deferrals and other relief measures were in place to help affected NAB customers.

For NSW East-Coast families, communities and businesses who have suffered damage to their homes, farms and premises: we are here to help, Mr Story said.

This will be a testing time for our communities and we were there for them, providing immediate assistance and making available $1,000 grants to help those most affected.

Affected NAB customers in the affected local government areas are encouraged to contact us as soon as possible.

Local government areas affected include the Blue Mountains, Camden, Hawkesbury, Kiama, Liverpool, Penrith, Shellharbour, Shoalhaven, Sutherland, Upper Lachlan, Wingecarribee, Wollondilly and Wollongong.

Further support is available for directly affected NAB customers, including:

Loan deferment or reduced repayment arrangements for home loans, personal loans and some business loans.
Support difficulties for customers trying to make minimum monthly payments on personal loans, home loans or credit cards.
Postponement of future credit card payments.
Waiver and/or refund of fees and charges, including trading terminal fees and early access fees on term deposits.

NAB colleagues who have been evacuated from their residence or cut off from support services may also have funding to help access temporary accommodation and daily essentials.

Individuals: 1300 308 132 Monday to Friday, 8am to 7pm AEST.
Businesses: 1300 769 650 Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm AEST.

All requests will be assessed on a case-by-case basis by the NAB Support team to determine eligibility. Disaster relief grants for severely affected, eligible NAB customers will remain open until 23 April 2024.

Grants are not available for minor home damage or damage to personal belongings and equipment, sheds, garages, gardens or loss or damage to investment properties or holiday homes. NAB also has a longstanding policy of providing employees who are emergency service volunteers with as much paid crisis leave as they require during emergencies.
